‘KĀKANO’ – SEED
Ki te mea ka taka te kākano ki te wāhi e tika ana ka tinaku, ā, ka pihi ake he tipu hou.
If a seed falls in the right place it will germinate and a new seedling will sprout.
We’re popping up in Hendo over the summer!🎨😎🌞
From 3 November 2018 – 3 February 2019 we’ll be running a pop-up gallery in The Falls Restaurant car park, showcasing a selection of our artworks and merchandise – all available for purchase.
We’ll even be running some free participatory workshops over the summer period so you can hang out with us, create your own art works and learn some new art making techniques!
Proudly supported by Panuku Development Auckland.
Weekly Pop-Up Gallery opening hours: Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun, 10am -3pm
Kākano Youth Arts Collective is a unique visual arts initiative for young artists aged between 12 and 20 years old, based at Corban Estate Arts Centre in West Auckland.
Kākano developed from a pilot programme in 2013 as a response to recognising the needs of some of the most vulnerable young people in West Auckland. Since then it has grown and to a hugely successful initiative, and has changed the lives of many young people.
