It has long been a dream for us to have our very own Kākano Gallery, run by our young people - a way to showcase the amazing talents of our rangatahi to the wider community.

With the support of Eke Eke Panuku Development Auckland, Te Puni Kokiri, Corban Estate Arts Centre and Henderson-Massey Local Board we have been able to realise this dream.

On 1 April 2022 we officially opened our new Kākano Gallery in the heart of Henderson Town Centre. The Kākano Gallery offers a range of unique paintings, prints, sculptures, jewelry, cards and t-shirts created by our emerging artists.

Prior to this, the Kākano Gallery was located in The Falls Bistro carpark, corner of Alderman Dr and Edmonton Rd, Henderson. We were at that location for 3 years, thanks to the generous support of Eke Panuku Development Auckland.

Kākano Gallery provides our rangatahi with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience; developing skills in customer service and all aspects of running a public Gallery, in a safe and supported environment. Our artists receive 90% of the sale of their work and we retain 10% which goes back into the running of the Collective.

Visit the Kākano Gallery at 3/326 Great North Road, Henderson. New opening hours are Tues – Sat, 10am – 4pm. If you have specific enquiries regarding the gallery, DM us on social media or email us at kakanocommunication@gmail.com.
