It has long been a dream for us to have our very own Gallery, run by our young people - a way to showcase the amazing talents of our rangatahi to the wider community.

With the support of Panuku Development Auckland, and the Henderson-Massey Local Board, we have been able to realise this dream.

In November 2018 we opened the Kākano Gallery in Henderson which offers a range of unique paintings, prints, sculptures, jewelry, cards and t-shirts created by our emerging artists.

It also provides our rangatahi with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience; developing skills in customer service and all aspects of running a public Gallery, in a safe and supported environment. Our artists receive 90% of the sale of their work and we retain 10% which goes back into the running of the Collective.

The Kākano Gallery was located in the Falls Carpark, corner of Alderman Drive and Edmonton Rd in Henderson, Auckland. Ngā mihi nui to all who supported our ‘pop-up’ gallery for the last 3 years, we appreciate you!

In early December 2021 we announced that the Kākano Gallery would be moving out of the big green container and into a shop in Henderson Town Centre in 2022. Watch this space for updates on the new Gallery space!
